1. Objetive
The objective of the seminar is to review the Basel III framework and the use of standardized models. The review will include practical exercises of the standardized approach for credit, operational and market risks. At the end of the seminar, an exercise related to the interaction between the mentioned models and other elements of Basel III will be presented.

- Overview of the Basel III frameworks and the use of standardised approaches
- The new credit risk standardised approaches – risk weighting of different exposures and the treatment of credit risk mitigation
- Calculation of credit, operational and market risk weighted assets
- The new operational risk standardised measurement approach
- The new market risk standardised approach
- The proposed simplified approach for market risk
- Interaction between credit, operational and market risk and other Basel III elements
- Practical considerations in the implementation of the new standardised approaches – a bank´s perspective

6. Minimum qualification requirements
- The seminar is designed for supervisors with at least 3 years of practical experience in banking supervision, as well as knowledge in Basel III.
- Intermediate level of English.
7. Pre-reading material
This seminar has no pre reading materials.
8. Language
English and Spanish are the official languages for the seminar. Simultaneous interpretation services will be available during the sessions.

10. Application period
From August 8 to September 11, 2017. No applications will be accepted after this period. Should the number of applicants not reach the minimum after this period; the Association may cancel the training activity to avoid causing unnecessary expenses to the host member.

The seminar is limited to 30 participants who will be selected based on their meeting of the Minimum Qualification Requirements on a first-come firstserved basis.
