1. Overview

The objective of the course is to familiarize bank supervisors, deposit insurers, and resolution authorities on tools used for problem bank identification, and the management and resolution of failed banks.

When the course is completed, participants will better understand the U.S. system for supervising problem banks, including prompt corrective action and formal- and informal-supervisory actions aimed at restoring a problem bank’s condition. Students will also better understand the U.S. framework for failed banks including the available resolution methods, the bank closing process, and asset management programs.

6. Minimum Qualification Requirements

  • The course is designed for bank supervisors, deposit insurers, and resolution authorities with at least 3 years of practical experience in banking supervision, deposit insurance, or failed bank resolutions.
  • Intermediate level of English.

This course has pre-reading materials.

8. Language

English and Spanish are the official languages for the course. Simultaneous interpretation services will be available during the sessions.
